OhoPrice editorial review

The iPhone 8 Plus at 108,610 PKR is a 2017 phone at 2026 midrange money, and there is no way to sugar-coat that. The A11 Bionic, 3GB of RAM and 64GB storage are entry-level by modern standards, iOS support for the 8-series ended years ago, and the battery is listed only as non-removable with no capacity given — a warning sign on a device this old. What it does offer is charm and reliability: the 5.5-inch 1080x1920 display at about 401 PPI is sharp with True Tone, the home button with Touch ID is still the most pleasant fingerprint unlock ever made, and the dual 12MP camera with 2x optical zoom takes better photos than many budget Androids today. But at 108,610 PKR you are paying nostalgia pricing for unsupported hardware. This is a phone for someone who specifically wants the classic home-button iPhone experience, not for anyone needing a practical 2026 smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G at 94,999 PKR is 13,611 PKR cheaper and three-quarters of a decade newer. The A26 offers 5G connectivity against the iPhone's 4G, 8GB of RAM against 3GB, 256GB of storage against 64GB, a 50MP+8MP+2MP camera against the dual 12MP, a 13MP front against 7MP, and a 5000mAh battery that simply ends the conversation. It also gets years of security updates the iPhone has already stopped receiving. The iPhone 8 Plus counters with the denser 401 PPI display, the telephoto lens, and the reliability and polish of the Apple experience — but none of that fixes unsupported software and a six-year-old battery. There is no honest argument that the iPhone 8 Plus is the better 2026 purchase; the A26 5G wins on value, hardware and safety. At this price for a 2017 iPhone, verify the IMEI on DIRBS, ask for battery-health proof, and understand that iOS updates for the 8-series have ceased.
