OhoPrice editorial review

Our Take: The Apple iPhone SE 2020 at Rs 31,500 is the outlier in this list — a four-year-old flagship processor wrapped in a budget-priced iPhone body. The A13 Bionic chip inside is the same processor that powered the iPhone 11 Pro, meaning it handles everything from light browsing to intensive apps with zero compromise on speed. The 256 GB of storage is the largest in this entire roundup and eliminates any need for cloud storage subscriptions. The 4.7-inch display at 326 PPI is sharp for its size, though the screen itself is small by modern standards and lacks the edge-to-edge design that contemporary phones offer. The 12 MP f/1.8 rear camera with optical image stabilisation captures excellent photos — OIS is a feature rarely found in phones under 50,000 PKR, and it makes a tangible difference in handheld video and low-light shooting. The major compromise is the 1821 mAh battery, which is roughly one-third the capacity of its Android rivals and will struggle to last a full day for anyone who uses their phone heavily. The phone also lacks a headphone jack and ships with an older Lightning connector rather than USB-C. This is a phone for buyers who specifically want iOS, value camera quality over battery life, and are comfortable with a compact form factor. Comparing the iPhone SE 2020 to the Itel A100 at Rs 27,999 is comparing two fundamentally different philosophies. The Itel offers a 6.74-inch screen, a 5000 mAh battery, and 128 GB of storage — all numbers that dwarf the iPhone's 4.7-inch display and 1821 mAh cell. But the iPhone's A13 Bionic chip outperforms the Itel's Unisoc T7250 by orders of magnitude in processing power, and its 12 MP OIS camera produces photos that the Itel's 8 MP sensor cannot approach in quality, especially in low light. The Itel wins on battery endurance, screen real estate, and price; the iPhone wins on raw performance, camera technology, and access to the iOS ecosystem including five to six years of software updates. The SE also carries higher resale value in Pakistan's used phone market. Buyers who need all-day battery and a big screen should look elsewhere, but for those who want flagship-class processing and camera quality at a budget price — and can tolerate charging mid-day — the iPhone SE remains uniquely compelling. PTA Note: Apple iPhones frequently require PTA approval; verify IMEI status on the PTA website, as non-approved units face steep activation taxes.
