OhoPrice editorial review

Our Take: The Apple iPhone 5S 16GB at Rs 25,799 is the most unusual phone in this batch — a decade-old device that appeals to a very specific buyer. The A7 chip was Apple's first 64-bit mobile processor, and while it is ancient by modern standards, it handles basic iOS tasks — calls, messaging, light browsing — without the crashes or freezes that plague old Android phones at similar prices. The 4.0-inch display at 326 PPI is sharp for its size, though the screen itself is tiny by any modern standard. The 8 MP rear camera with dual True Tone flash produces photos with natural colour reproduction that many budget Android phones cannot match. The 1.2 MP selfie camera is strictly for FaceTime calls. The 16 GB of storage is critically low — after iOS and system files, you may have only 10 to 12 GB available, requiring constant file management. The 1510 mAh battery is roughly one-third the capacity of its Android rivals and will struggle to last a full day. At 123.8 mm tall and 58.6 mm wide, this is genuinely pocketable in a way no modern phone can replicate. This phone only makes sense for buyers who specifically want iOS, value pocketability, and accept severe battery and storage limitations. Comparing the iPhone 5S to the Sego Note 70 Limited Edition at Rs 24,149 is comparing two fundamentally different philosophies. The Sego offers a 6.8-inch screen, 5000 mAh battery, and 128 GB of storage — numbers that dwarf the iPhone's 4.0-inch display, 1510 mAh cell, and 16 GB. But the iPhone's iOS ecosystem provides access to apps optimised for Apple's platform, and its 8 MP camera produces more naturally coloured images than the Sego's 13 MP sensor. The iPhone also carries higher resale value in Pakistan's used phone market. The Sego's lower price and vastly larger specifications make it the practical choice for most buyers, but the iPhone 5S fills a genuine niche for users who want the smallest, most pocketable smartphone available and are comfortable with iOS. For the vast majority of buyers, the Sego is the more rational choice; for those who specifically want a tiny iPhone, the 5S remains uniquely compelling despite its age. PTA Note: Apple iPhones frequently require PTA approval; verify IMEI status on the PTA website, as non-approved units face steep activation taxes.
