OhoPrice editorial review

The Oppo A77s at 69,999 PKR has one glaring problem: a 720x1612 display on a 6.6-inch screen works out to only about 269 pixels per inch, so text and icons will look visibly pixelated next to the 1080p panels that are standard at this price. Otherwise it is a competent but dated package, a Snapdragon 680 4G, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, a 50MP main with a 2MP depth lens, an 8MP selfie and a 5000mAh battery that lasts a full day. The build is solid and the 90Hz refresh smooths scrolling, but in 2026 the price is simply too high for hardware that debuted in 2022 without even 5G or a sharp screen. This only makes sense if you find it heavily discounted and prioritise Oppo's build quality and reliability over display quality and value. The Samsung Galaxy A17 at 67,499 PKR is actually 2,500 PKR cheaper than the A77s, yet it is the better phone on nearly every axis: a Helio G99 that is much faster than the Snapdragon 680, a 1080p AMOLED display at roughly 385 PPI versus the A77s's 269 PPI 720p panel, a 50MP main with a 5MP ultrawide instead of a 2MP depth filler, a 13MP selfie over 8MP, and a 2025 release date. The A77s's only advantages are its 8GB RAM baseline versus the A17's 6GB entry tier and an equally capable 5000mAh battery. There is no honest reason to pay more for the A77s; the A17 is the clear, cheaper and better buy. Confirm the A77s's IMEI on PTA's DIRBS, and seriously question whether the 720p panel is acceptable at this price before buying.
