OhoPrice editorial review

Our Take: The Tecno Camon 16 Premier at 33,999 PKR packs an impressive camera system into an affordable package. The 64 MP main sensor with its large 1/1.73-inch sensor size captures significantly more light than typical 48 MP competitors, producing brighter and cleaner photos in challenging lighting conditions. The 8 MP ultrawide lens adds landscape versatility, and the dual 48 MP + 8 MP selfie setup is outstanding for this price bracket, offering both wide-angle group shots and detailed close-ups. The 6.9-inch Full HD+ display at 389 PPI with HDR10+ support and a 90 Hz refresh rate makes video streaming look genuinely cinematic. The Helio G90T processor and 8 GB of RAM deliver solid gaming and multitasking performance. The 4,500 mAh battery is the trade-off: it will last a full day of moderate use but may struggle under heavy gaming or extended video recording. At this price, the camera hardware is genuinely class-leading. The Xiaomi Redmi A5 at 28,999 PKR is about 5,000 cheaper, but the camera gap is enormous. The Redmi A5's 32 MP main sensor uses a smaller sensor and lacks the optical detail of the Camon 16 Premier's 64 MP unit. The Xiaomi also ships with only 4 GB of RAM and a Unisoc T7250 processor, which cannot match the Helio G90T's gaming performance. Where the Redmi A5 wins is battery capacity at 5,200 mAh versus 4,500 mAh, and a lower entry price. However, the Camon 16 Premier's display is Full HD+ with HDR10+ certification, while the Redmi A5 is limited to 720p, making the Tecno the better choice for anyone who watches video content on their phone. For photography-focused buyers, the Camon 16 Premier is the clear winner; for those who just need a basic phone with a big battery, the Redmi A5 saves money. PTA Note: This model has been available in Pakistan for some time; PTA approval is likely, but check the IMEI database to be certain.
