Our Take: The Vivo Y17s is a light, honest performer built around a 50MP main camera with PDAF — genuine autofocus, which is more than many phones at this price manage. The 6.56-inch 720p screen tops out at 700 nits, making it readable in strong sunlight, and the Helio G85 with 6GB of RAM handles messaging, video and casual games without drama. Battery life from the 5000mAh cell is comfortably a full day, though the modest 269 PPI density is the first thing you will notice if you are used to sharper screens. The Xiaomi Redmi A5 undercuts it by 5,000 PKR and answers with a bigger 5200mAh battery, but that is most of what it has in the bank. The Y17s serves up a 50MP PDAF camera, 6GB of base RAM and 128GB of storage, where the Redmi starts at 4GB/64GB with a 32MP shooter and an unproven Unisoc T7250. If you want the most phone for the least cash and are unwilling to compromise on the camera, the Y17s earns its price premium; if battery size alone sways you, the A5 will save you money. Check the Y17s IMEI against PTA's database — it is commonly imported, so unapproved units are easy to find.
