OhoPrice editorial review

Our Take: The Vivo Y31d is a standout in the sub-32,000 PKR bracket because it pairs a 7200 mAh battery with a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 processor — a combination rarely seen at this price. That battery capacity is not just a marketing number; it translates to roughly two days of moderate use between charges, which is a genuine advantage for users who travel or spend long hours away from power outlets. The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2, built on a modern process node, handles multitasking, video streaming, and casual gaming without the stutter that plagues Unisoc-powered rivals. With 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, this phone eliminates the two most common pain points in budget devices: running out of memory and running out of space. The 120 Hz display makes animations feel fluid, though the 720p resolution at 256 PPI is below average for sharpness — text and icons will look slightly soft compared to Full HD panels. The 50 MP main camera with PDAF is a welcome inclusion, capturing usable daylight shots with decent colour reproduction, though the 8 MP selfie camera is merely functional. At Rs 31,999, this phone represents genuine value for buyers who prioritise endurance and performance over display finesse. The Itel A100 costs Rs 4,000 less at Rs 27,999 and offers a larger 6.74-inch screen, but the similarities end there. The Y31d's Snapdragon processor outclasses the A100's Unisoc T7250 by a wide margin in sustained performance, and Vivo's 7200 mAh battery dwarfs the Itel's 5000 mAh unit — a difference that could mean the phone lasts an extra full day between charges. The Itel counters with 128 GB of storage and virtual RAM expansion to 12 GB, though virtual RAM relies on slower internal storage and does not match the Y31d's 8 GB of dedicated physical memory. Camera quality favours Vivo as well: the 50 MP sensor with phase detection autofocus captures sharper, more detailed images than the Itel's 8 MP shooter. If battery life and processing power are your priorities, the Vivo Y31d justifies every rupee of its premium; the Itel remains the choice if budget is non-negotiable and you need a basic working smartphone. PTA Note: Ensure the device is PTA-approved to avoid surprise activation charges when inserting a Pakistani SIM card.
