OhoPrice editorial review

An AMOLED display at Rs 46,999 is unusual and welcome. The Infinix Note 12's 6.7-inch panel at 1080 x 2400 (~393 PPI) produces the deep blacks and punchy colours that LCD screens cannot replicate, making it excellent for media consumption. The Helio G96 on a 12 nm process is functional but not efficient — expect the phone to run warm during extended gaming sessions, and battery drain is higher than on 6 nm competitors. The 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage are adequate. The 50 MP main camera with f/1.6 aperture lets in more light than most f/1.8 or f/2.0 lenses, which helps in dim environments; the depth and QVGA sensors add nothing meaningful. The 16 MP selfie camera is above average for this price. The 5000 mAh battery compensates somewhat for the 12 nm chip's thirst, delivering roughly a day of moderate use. Build quality and software polish are areas where Infinix still trails behind Samsung and Xiaomi. The Oppo A6C at Rs 5,000 less uses a basic LCD at HD+ resolution, while the Note 12 delivers a Full HD+ AMOLED — a display quality gap that is immediately obvious when watching videos or viewing photos. The A6C's 7000 mAh battery easily outlasts the Note 12's 5000 mAh, partly because the A6C's less powerful processor and lower-resolution screen consume less power. Storage on the Note 12 is double (128 GB vs 64 GB), and RAM is also doubled (8 GB vs 4 GB). Camera quality on the Note 12 is better on paper and in practice, thanks to the wider f/1.6 aperture. For media-focused buyers who want vibrant visuals and can accept shorter battery life, the Note 12's AMOLED screen makes it the more enjoyable device to use. Infinix phones are widely available PTA-approved in Pakistan, but always confirm the specific variant's status at the point of sale.
