OhoPrice editorial review
Our Take: The A9 2020 is a 2019 phone, and buyers need to understand what that means in 2026. The Snapdragon 665 is now six-plus years old: fine for messaging, calls and light apps, but modern games and heavy multitasking will push it hard. The good news is OPPO equipped it unusually well — an 8MP telephoto lens in a 2020 budget phone is rare, the 48MP main with PDAF is decent, and 8GB/128GB is generous. The 6.5-inch 720p panel is about 270 PPI, so it is soft by today's standards, and the 16MP front camera is listed at f/1.0, an aperture that is almost certainly a data error (f/2.0 is the more plausible figure) — verify in person. The 5000mAh battery is its saving grace. The Infinix Smart 20 is 4,000 PKR cheaper and seven years newer, with a 5200mAh battery and 2026-era Helio G81 performance that clearly outruns the A9's 665. But the A9 2020 keeps the camera advantage: a 48MP main with an 8MP telephoto lens versus the Smart 20's single 8MP shooter, and a 16MP front versus 8MP. The Smart 20's chipset data is garbled (MediaTek Hello | G81Ultimate), so verify its specs independently. If you want modern performance and battery for less, the Smart 20 is the rational buy; if a real telephoto lens and OPPO's build quality matter more than age, the A9 2020 still has a niche. The A9 2020's IMEI should be checked against PTA's DIRBS — this 2019 model is a recurring grey import.
