OhoPrice editorial review
Our Take: The Vivo Y55 leads with a display that most phones at this price would envy — a 6.4-inch AMOLED at 1080p, which gives it deep blacks and roughly 409 PPI of sharpness. Backed by the Snapdragon 680, 8GB of RAM and a 50MP triple camera, it feels tuned for people who watch a lot of video and take selfies rather than for hardcore gamers. The catch is the price: at 75,499 PKR it sits clearly above what the hardware alone usually commands, so part of what you pay for is Vivo's polish and camera tuning. The Samsung Galaxy A17, which launched later in 2025, undercuts the Y55 by about 8,000 PKR while bringing a faster Helio G99 chipset and a slightly larger 90Hz AMOLED. Samsung also offers storage flexibility up to 256GB where the Vivo is fixed at 128GB. What the Y55 keeps is that punchier colour calibration, a brighter-feeling panel in practice, and the Snapdragon's reputation for efficiency on 4G. If your budget is tight and you want the newest chip, the A17 makes more sense; if AMOLED tuning and Vivo's camera app are what you like, the Y55 justifies its premium. Confirm the exact IMEI is PTA-approved before purchase — the Y55's price makes unofficial imports an attractive but risky option.
