OhoPrice editorial review

Our Take: The Redmi Note 12S is the phone you pick when camera detail matters more than anything else at its price point. The 108MP main sensor sits on a large 1/1.52-inch base, which lets it capture noticeably more light and fine detail than the 50MP sensors that dominate this segment, and the 8MP ultrawide adds genuine versatility. Rounding it out are 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and a 90Hz 1080p display that reaches 1000 nits at peak. One honest caveat: the data does not state whether that panel is AMOLED or LCD, so if display type matters to you, confirm it before buying. Set against the Samsung Galaxy A17, this becomes a fight between camera hardware and a fresher processor. The A17, released in late 2025, runs the newer Helio G99, offers up to 8GB/256GB and costs about 7,500 PKR less with a 90Hz AMOLED screen. The Redmi fights back with that 108MP main camera, an ultrawide lens Samsung lacks, and a larger 1/1.52-inch sensor. Both pack 5000mAh batteries. If photography and storage are king, the Note 12S wins clearly; if you value the newest chip and AMOLED contrast for less money, the A17 is the better deal. Use PTA's DIRBS calculator to check the Note 12S before buying, as imported units are common.
